Original white wrappers printed in red and black with the Club device; edges untrimmed. Issued for the Club’s exhibition of early printing drawn from the gift of David Wolfe Bruce, listing selected 15th/16th century books. Light toning to wrappers, primarily at edges, with some small chips to corners.
Together with two pieces of Grolier Club ephemera for the exhibition:
Printed notice announcing the show, single leaf on laid paper, letterpress in red in a Gothic hand with decorative initial and shield device; text reads “From November the Ninth to the Twenty-fourth there will be an Exhibition… from the collection presented to the Club by David Wolfe Bruce, Esq.,” and notes a private view and the monthly meeting.
Admission card for the exhibition printed in black with blanks (“Admit ___ and friends / Compliments of ___”).
Catalogue: light toning and dust-soiling to wrappers, a couple of tiny nicks and soft creases at lower edge; internally clean and crisp. Printed notice: near fine with fresh deckle edges and strong red ink. Admission card: very near fine, just a whisper of handling.
