Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. London: Macmillan and Co., 1893. Full grained green & brown morocco (originally fully green), gilt-tooled on the covers with a vertically oriented centerpiece of interlaced rings (a repeating chain of overlapping circles and half-circles), flanked to either side by symmetrical rows of stylized flower blossoms and small fleuron and roundel tools. Title tooled in gilt on front cover in spaced capitals across the middle. Five bands to spine with floral and roundel tooling to each compartment. Plain turn-ins, green marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Measures approx. 5.5" x 8". Rubbing to edges and spine bands, along with a significant amount of fading to covers and spine.
