With fifteen black & white illustrations by Ethel Reed & striking pictorial endpapers printed in orange with repeating “ARABELLA PICKED A POPPY” border, also by Reed. All of the full-page illustrations have been neatly hand-colored in watercolor, with the colors applied in harmony with Reed's significant use of negative space.
Original tan pictorial cloth stamped in black with Reed’s Art Nouveau cover design; spine titled and ornamented in black. Measures approx. 7" x 9". Cloth toned and soiled, rubbing to extremities, corners bumped and worn, fraying to spine ends, both joints split but hinges and text block sound. All 15 plates present.
