A modeled leather binding, bound in full tan calf, with the upper cover in low relief with a painted figure of a portly sailor; the title “Dialstone Lane” and author’s name incised at head and fore-edge; binder’s initials “PH” stamped below the sailor's foot. Smooth spine with the title and author lettered in gilt; gilt-rolled turn-ins, plain endpapers, top edge gilt. Measures approx. 4.75" x 6.75".
Leather toned--particularly at edges and joints--and some light rubbing to edges, scattered small spots, and some wear to upper spine tip. Spine slightly cocked. Foxing to endpapers, textblock lightly toned.
