Cook, Mrs. E.T. Highways and Byways in London. London: Macmillan and Co., 1911. Illustrations by Hugh Thomson and F. L. Griggs.

Bound in full brown morocco by J. Eleanor Cooper (with small label on rear endpaper), front cover with text in gilt from Dekker's poem "Oh London Thou Art Great in Glory", with borders on top and bottom of rows of small gilt floral stamps. Flat spine with gilt title and floral borders extended from front cover. Gilt ruled turn-ins, grey endpapers, all edges gilt.  Measures approx. 5.5" x 8". Slight rubbing to edges and corners, small chip to corner of head of spine. Small spots of rubbing to covers. Light browning to text block.

Cooper was interviewed in 1915 by the "British & Colonial Printer & Stationer" at her workshop, noting that "to be a successful book doctor, it is absolutely necessary that the aspirant should possess three qualifications -- patience, useful friends, and a whole-hearted love of books, not merely for their bindings, but for their contents, too."
