Bound in full purple morocco by Bayntun for Brentanos (signed at top and bottom of front turn-in), covers with wide double-ruled rectangular borders in gilt, rounded corner compartments, and thistles inlaid in green and lavender at each corner. Spines with five raised bands, titles and volume numbers to second and fourth compartments, the remaining compartments gilt with repeated thistles inlaid in green and lavender with curved rules. Gilt-ruled turn-ins with small gilt thistle tool at corners. Lightly marbled endpapers; all edges gilt.

Measures approx. 4.25" x 6.5". Spines uniformly mellowed from purple to brown. Some minor rubbing to edges and spine tips. Offsetting to endpapers, with mild toning and occasional light foxing to text.
