Bennett’s collected essays on enduringly popular books, first printed serially in the Chicago Tribune under the title Best Sellers of the Ages. 

Bound in full dark blue morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe (on lower front turn-in) for Duttons (signed on lower rear turn-in), covers with single gilt rule border and small gilt square corner tools. Spine with five raised bands, title and author to second and third compartments, the remaining compartments with gilt-ruled panels and small geometric tools. Gilt-rolled turn-ins with marbled endpapers, all edges gilt.

Measures approx. 6" x 8.5". Spine lightly faded, wear to upper spine tip, some rubbing to spine bands. Corners lightly bumped. Housed in its original fleece-lined marbled paper slipcase.
