One of 47 copies printed on Japanese vellum (noted as such by Harper) on the front free endpaper. This copy is inscribed to William H. Gaylord, founding member and longtime president of the Rowfant Club. Three woodcut illustrations by Louis Meynell. Original flexible boards with illustration in blue-green to front cover, printed paper spine label. Measures approx. 6.25" x 9.25". 

Light rubbing to edges of boards, some browning and spotting to covers. Paper covered spine worn, with some chipping to head and tail; title label also worn and chipped, though most of the printing is visible. Some light browning to Japan vellum text block.

A fantastic association copy. This Japan vellum variant also appears to be quite scarce.
