Bound in the publisher’s half leather and paper-covered boards, with pictorial endpapers. A Roycroft production by Mabel Powers, writing under her Seneca name Yehsennohwehs. A history, part local and part legendary, of the old portage route between Lake Erie and Chautauqua Lake, “the route the Indians blazed from Lake Erie to Chautauqua Lake,” told in Iroquois story form.

Housed in a chemise inside a half leather slipcase (worn). Rubbing to leather at spine. Some paper remnants to verso opposite title page.

Due to its fragile nature, a volume rarely seen with its spine intact.
